Özet
The beginning of the 18 th centuy is a tuning point for the Ottoman Empire. Because, in this century there were major changes in the Empire. Militaq defeats caused inquily of the militaq training of Ottomam, as a result of thls, the European-model education renewal efforts before The Tanzimat Period focused on military training. So the first European-model schools were military schools. "Hendesehane", "Mühendishâne-i Bahri Hümayun" "Mühendishâne-i Barri Hümayun", "Mektebi Tibbiye", "Mektebi Ulûm-u Harbiye", "M inka-i Hümâyûh Mektebi" were the first European-model schools. These first European-model schools - opened together with the tradtional education imtitutions - with their programs, methods, equipments and teachmg staff, were the first schools for the sake of Tanzlmat. In h s dele, the efforts of renewal in the education system of the Ottoman Empire until the Restoration Period will be comidered. © IDOSI Publications, 2012.
