Özet
Bu çalışma, Kokar Ardıç (Juniperus foetidissima) odunu üzerine uygulanan Hickson Decor vernik ve sentetik Cam Cila verniklerinin dış ortam şartlarının verniklerin renk, parlaklık ve yüzeye yapışma dirençlerine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Deney örnekleri ASTM-D 3023 esaslarına göre verniklendikten sonra ASTM-D 1641 esaslarına göre; deney örnekleri 0°, 30°, 60°, 90° konumda ve yüzleri güneyi görecek şekilde 12 ay süreyle dış hava şartlarına maruz bırakılmıştır. Verniklerin yüzeye yapışma direnci ASTM-D 4541, renk değişimi ASTM 2244 ve parlaklık değerleri ASTM D 523 esaslarına göre belirlenmiştir.Deney sonuçlarına göre; verniklerin liflere dik parlaklık değeri en yüksek Cam Cila kontrol gurubu 36,20, en düşük liflere dik parlaklık değeri Hicson Decor 12 ay 0? açıyla bekletilmiş örneklerde 12,03 bulunmuştur.Verniklerin en yüksek liflere paralel parlaklık değeri Cam Cila 3 ay 90? açıda 46,80, en düşük Cam Cila 12 ay 0? açıda bekletilmiş örneklerde 12,05 bulunmuştur. Verniklerin renk L (Beyazlık) değeri en yüksek Hicson Decor kontrol gurubu 63,15, en düşük Hicson Decor 12 ay 30? açıda bekletilmiş 49,50 bulunmuştur. A (Kırmızılık) değeri en yüksek Cam Cila 3 ay 30? açıda 18,55, en düşük değeri Cam Cila verniğinde 12 ay 0° açıyla bekletilmiş örneklerde 7,46 bulunmuştur. B (Sarılık) değeri en yüksek Hicson Decor 3 ay 90? 47,47, en düşük Hicson Decor 12 ay 0? açıda bekletilmiş örneklerde 15,66 bulunmuştur. Verniklerin yüzeye yapışma direnci; en yüksek Hicson Decor verniği kontrol gurubu 2,48, en düşük Cam Cila 12 ay 30? açıyla bekletilmiş 0,20 bulunmuştur.Sonuç olarak; 12 ay sonunda verniklerin renk, parlaklık ve yüzeye yapışma dirençlerinde ortalama %10 değer kaybı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Buna göre dış ortam şartlarında sentetik vernik cam Cila veya Hicson Decor verniği kullanılacaksa; renk değişiminin önemli olduğu yerlerde Hicson Decor, parlaklığın önemli olduğu yerlerde Cam Cila verniği, yüzeye yapışma direncinin önemli olduğu yerlerde ise Hicson Decor verniğinin kullanılması önerilebilir.
This study has been made to determine the effects of outside environment conditions of Hickson Decor varnishing and synthetic glass polishing applied to Juniperus foetidissima wood over the colour, brightness and surface bonding strengths of varnishings. Experimental samples have been exposed to outside air conditions for 12 months in 0°, 30°, 60°, 90° positions and their faces seeing south according to ASTM-D 1641 standards after having been varnished based on the standards of ASTM-D 3023. Surface bonding strength of varnishings has been determined based on the standards of ASTM-D 4541, colour change on ASTM 2244 and brightness values on ASTM 523. According to the experiment results, the highest vertical brightness value of varnishing has been taken in glass polishing varnishing control 36,20 and the lowest with Hicson Decor varnishing at the end of 12 months at 0° angle as 12.01.The highest parallel brightness value of varnishing has been taken in glass polishing varnishing at the end of 3 months at 90° angle as 46,80 and the lowest with glass polishing varnishing at the end of 12 months at 0° angle as 12.05. The highest brightness 1 value of varnishings has been taken in Hicson Decor control sample as 63,15 and the lowest in Hicson Decor varnishing at the end of 12 months at 30° angle as 49,50. The highest A (redness) value has been taken in glass polishing varnishing at the end of 3 months at 30° angles as 18,55 and the lowest in glass polishing varnishing at the end of 12 months at 0° angle as 7,46. The highest B (yellowness) value has been taken in Hicson Decor varnishing at the end of 3 months at 90° as 47,47 and the lowest in Hicson Decor varnishing at the end of 12 months at 0° angle as 15.66. The highest surface bonding strength of varnishings has been taken in Hicson Decor varnishing control samples as 2,48 and the lowest in glass polishing varnishing at the end of 12 months at 30° as 0,20.As a result, after 12 months, a 10% waste has been observed in colour, brightness and surface bonding strengths of varnishings. Based on this, if in outside environments, synthetic varnishing glass polishing or Hicson Decor varnishing is to be used, in places where colour change is important the use of Hicson Decor varnishing, where brightness is important the use of glass polishing, where surface bonding strength is important the use of Hicson Decor varnishing can be recommended.
