Özet

Many factors are considered in the planning of urban areas. One of these factors is earthquake zones. In this study, geology, distance to fault lines, information about topography and groundwater, with the help of geographic information systems, is aimed to determine suitable settlement areas. When the earthquake damage risk map of the study area is examined, the middle and western sections of the region are High Risk, the middle sections of the region, along the western boundary, the south section and, to a lesser extent, the eastern section, High Risk, the south-eastern part of the western part is less risky and the eastern part of the zone is the least risky area. In this study, the analysis was conducted by using ArcGIS 10.1 Geographic Information System software, an earthquake risk map was constructed and measures to be taken against the damage caused by a possible earthquake were assessed. © Peter Lang AG 2019.
