| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma Feminist Kuram ile psikoloji ve tarih dahil olmak üzere diğer disiplinlerin iç içe geçmiş çalışmalarının kapsamlı bir çerçevesini sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada dil edinimi, sosyal normlar ve güç mefhumlarının değişen kavramlarının kadınların toplumsal cinsiyet kimliğinin oluşumu üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu araştırmada Irigaray, Cixous ve Kristeva gibi eleştirmenlerin kadınların dil edinimine karşın bakış açılarına yer verilmiş ve her iki eserle de ilişkili olarak dil ediniminin kadın kimliğinin inşasını nasıl etkilediği derinlemesine incelenmiştir. Öte yandan, Simone de Beauvoir'in kadın olmak söylemi ve kadının kültürel kimliğinin oluşturulması çerçevesinde iki yapıt incelenmiştir. Ayrıca Butler'ın kadın kimliğinin oluşumuna ilişkin 'performatiflik' kuramı ve toplumun dayattığı kadın kimliğinin dışında bir kadın kimliğinin oluşturulup oluşturulamayacağı da incelenmektedir. Bu tez Dorothy Richardson'ın Tünel ve Anita Brookner'ın Bana Bak romanlarındaki kadın kahramanların toplumsal kabul görmelerini sağlayan kadın kimliklerinin yaratılma sürecini ilgili teoriler ışığında inşa etmekte başarılı olup olmadıklarını analiz etmeyi amaçlamıştır. Her iki eserde de kadınların tabi kılındığı ataerkil toplumlarda özerklik mücadelesi incelenmektedir. Tezin birinci bölümünde kapsamlı bir literatür taraması sunulmaktadır. Çalışmanın ikinci ve üçüncü bölümlerinde ise kadının kimliğinin oluşturulmasının nasıl sorunlaştırıldığı ilgili teoriler ışığında incelenmiştir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This study presents a comprehensive framework of intertwined studies of Feminist Theory and other disciplines, including psychology and history. In this study, the influence of language acquisition, social norms, and changing notions of authority on the formation of female gender identity was investigated. In this research, the perspectives of the critics such as Irigaray, Cixous, and Kristeva on language acquisition of women are included and thoroughly analyzed on how it is affected the construction of female identity in relation to both works. On the other hand, two works examined Simone de Beauvoir's statement about being a woman and the formulation of a woman's cultural identity. Besides, Butler's 'performativity' theory on the formation of female identity is also examined, as is the question of whether a female identity other than the one imposed by society can be formed. This thesis aims to analyze whether the heroines in Dorothy Richardson's The Tunnel and Anita Brookner's Look at Me successfully create the process of constructing female identities that provide social acceptance in light of relevant theories. In both works, the struggle for autonomy in patriarchal societies where women are subordinate is analyzed. In the first section of the thesis, a comprehensive literature review is presented. In the second and third sections of the study, the problematization of the female identity was analyzed in view of related theories. | en_US |
