In thts study, the connection between computer game addiction and behavioral problems of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students was investigated. Furthermore, the impact of gender and grade variables on computer game addiction and behavioral problems was analyzed. The study was designed with the relational survey method. During the 2016-2017 academic year three hundred students attending 3rd, 4th and 5th grades and their mothers were included in the study group. In this study, in order to collect the research data, Computer Game Dependency Scale (CGDS) Ayas, Balta and Horzum (2008) and Conners Parental Rating Scale-Revised Short Form (CPRS-SF) adapted by Kaner and his friends are used. Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used to analyze the differences between the groups. The study findings demonstrated that as the computer game addiction scores increased, behavior problem scores increased as well (p <0.05). It was observed that gender and grade level of the child affected the computer game addiction scores, while only the gender variable led to a significant difference (p <0.05) in behavioral problem scores. Based on these findings, it was concluded that preventive intervention in computer game addiction was important and should be scrutinized in future studies. It was observed that boys' computer game addiction scores were higher than girls. This research shows that computer game addiction is an important risk factor in behavioral problems. For this reason, it is very important to implement preventive interventions in schools. © 2021. All Rights Reserved.en_US
