Literatür taraması yapılırken Türkçe dilinde “Kovid-19 ve gebelik”, “koronavirüs ve gebelik”, “SARS-CoV-2 ve gebelik”, “SARS virüsü ve gebelik”, ingilizce dilinde “Covid-19 and pregnancy”, “Coranavirus and pregnancy”, “SARS-CoV-2 and prenancy”, SARS and pregnancy” ananahtar kelimeleri kullanılmıştır.
This study is a case study design that examines the literature on COVID-19 positive pregnant women. The main aim of the research is to understand the effects of COVID-19 on pregnancy and neonatal health, reveal the clinical course, complications, and management strategies of these effects. The study is limited to scientific articles published between 2020 and 2024. The literature review was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and YÖK thesis databases. A total of 17 articles included in the scope of the research were thoroughly examined, and data were collected using the content analysis method. During the literature review, the following keywords were used in Turkish: “Kovid-19 and pregnancy”, “coronavirus and pregnancy”, “SARS-CoV-2 and pregnancy”, “SARS virus and pregnancy”; and in English: “Covid-19 and pregnancy”, “Coronavirus and pregnancy”, “SARS-CoV-2 and pregnancy”, “SARS and pregnancy”. The findings of the research indicate that there is insufficient evidence for the vertical transmission of COVID-19 to newborns, but it can lead to severe maternal and perinatal outcomes during pregnancy. Particularly in cases of severe illness, an increase in the rates of preterm birth, preeclampsia, and emergency cesarean section has been identified. Additionally, COVID-19 has been found to have high levels of psychological effects such as anxiety, depression, and stress in pregnant women. These findings are important for better understanding the effects of COVID-19 on pregnancy and childbirth processes and for developing management strategies."
