Özet
Radon is a toxic natural gas that has a strong effect on human health. The present work aimed to studying the effect of this gas that emitted from cigarettes and melliferous. The radon and Thoron gas concentration for different types of cigarettes had been measured for (GAULOISES, PINE, DUNHILL, ASPEN, ROYALE, GITANES, Marlboro, ROYALE) and for different types of melliferous (Mint, Mint and gum, Lemon, Two apples). Radon monitor type SARAD model was used to calculate the radon and thoron concentration after a filter which placed inside a rubber tube and then connected to the monitor inorder to filtering smok from nicotine and tar. The results show that the highest concentration of radon in cigarettes was found in DUNHILL type (48 Bq / m3) and the lowest concentration in the Marlboro type (38 Bq / m3), but the values of thoron gas remains constant for all types. The results for radon gas concentration in melliferous was very large compared with the cigarettes, the highest concentration was in two apples type (420 Bq / m3), and the lowest concentration in Mint type (234 Bq / m3). All the radiation indices like the Concentration of Potential Alpha Energy (PAE), the exposure of radon progeny (EP), the annual effective dose (D) and the lung cancer patient for each year for every million people (LCCP) were calculated, all the results are less than the acceptable limit by ICRP, UNSCEAR and NCRP. © 2023 Author(s).
